Feathers Country Estate \ Accommodation in Bela Bela

Feathers Country Estate is a combination of luxurious hospitality venues, situated 5kms outside Warmbaths / Bela-Bela on a private farm and is only 1 hour 30 min drive from Pretoria. We are located at the foot of the Waterberg, in a malaria free area, and are surrounded by many big five game reserves, as well as top class golf courses. We are 20 km's away from the world renowned Nylsvlei Bird Sanctuary; A natural bird haven and a must for bird lovers. We are also in close proximity to the world’s largest crocodile farm.

Accommodation

The Tented Camp
We offer an exclusive Tented Bush Camp en suite, with 3 double and 2 twin luxury tents overlooking picturesque dams. The tents are fully serviced with all amenities provided. Electricity is provided in all tents including fans, along with hot and cold water in the bathrooms. Tea and coffee is provided in the tents as well. The tents are tastefully furnished with super king beds or 2 x 3 4 beds. Natural earthy colours in the linen finish the tents off. All beds are protected by mosquito nets, in spite of being in a malaria free area. All the tents have a private deck overlooking a dam, fully stocked with fish. Fishing will be available soon.

The Tented Camp has a very scenic boma that is available for guests, for braai's or just relaxing. A swimming pool with its own private lapa (kitchen and dining facilities), is also available for guests. We offer a variety of options in the boma, in that guests can braai for themselves or we can provide a braai, Potjiekos meal or even a spit braai, along with all the salads etc. We are also fully licensed here.

The Guest House
The guest house is also situated on the 23 hectare property surrounded by natural bushveld. This is an ideal farm style homestead offering home from home hospitality. The guest house consists of 4 en-suite bedrooms (soon to be 6), with a large TV room bar.

The guest house has a lovely dining room which can accommodate approximately 15 people. The area can also be used for private cocktail parties. The house has self catering facilities as well with a large fully equipped kitchen at the guest’s disposal. A lovely lapa area with braai, stocked bar and pool area are also available.

There are large gardens to amble in with two lovely Labradors to guide you. The Guest House adjoins the famous Feathers Restaurant.

Dining

One can partake of the facilities provided on a fully inclusive tariff, Bed & Breakfast, or Bed only (self catering) at the Tented Bush Camp. The estate is fully licensed, with numerous venues to dine at:

• The Feathers A' La Carte Restaurant
• The Pool Lapa - An ideal venue for lazing around the pool and enjoying true bushveld summers. A full braai facility [kitchen] is available as well as a fully stocked bar.
• Feathers Tented Camp Boma - The Boma is a true African experience sitting in the heart of the African bushveld, where one can have a sun downer, along with a traditional South African braai, sitting around the fire and hearing the night sounds of the bush.
• Strawberry Khaya with a Tea Garden for breakfasts and light meals as well as a function venue is also available. A very unique farm stall, Deli and Tea Garden offering all sorts of culinary and curio delights to passers by.

Feathers Country Kitchen

The Feathers Country Estate includes an exclusive tented restaurant overlooking a scenic dam, stocked with fish that attracts numerous waterbirds, as well as Kingfishers, Fish Eagles etc. The restaurant is well known for its exceptional cuisine, with interesting local dishes being offered. This is an ideal spot to relax, have a sun downer on the deck, whilst watching the birds, terrapins and of course the setting sun. The restaurant is also available for private functions, and is especially ideal for weddings.

Weddings

The restaurant lends itself to exclusive bushveld weddings for +- 80 guests. We are able to host the service in a Gazebo strategically placed alongside the dam, and the restaurant itself used for the function venue. Any form of catering can be accommodated, however we specialise in hot and cold buffets, utilising local dishes, and themes. We have sufficient space for a marquee as well. We cater for wedding cakes, flower arrangements as well as music etc. Your one stop wedding venue. The gardens make an ideal background for photos.

Conferences

We have the facility to host mini conferences in our air-conditioned conference venue at the Guest House. We can cater for up to +- 26 pax school room style. All modern equipment can be made available. Contact us for our different conference packages.

Activities and Attractions

Bird watching is of a very high standard, and numerous paths are available for walks. Horse riding is also available. Luxury spa treatments are available within 5 km’s from us. The camp is within close proximity of many interesting attractions, including Spa Baths, Big Five Game Reserves, Golf Courses, Crocodile farm, Nylsvlei Bird Sanctuary, small antelope rehabilitation centre, water sports and many more.
