The Limpopo Province reflects the quintessence of untamed Africa! Ancient trees guarding vast expanses of mountains and bushveld, and hot, breathless afternoons, heralds the call of the nightjar, punctuating the cover of darkness!

Embraced by pristine bushveld, Mashudu Lodge comes to meet you with great hospitality! Ideally situated for that quick midweek or weekend getaway, conference or wedding. Only 1.5 hours from Pretoria, situated on the main road, breakaway quickly, without having to test any dirt or gravel roads! Under the beautiful warm African sun, Mashudu lends its visitor complete relaxation for body, mind and soul!

Accommodation

The Lodge is situated on 720ha of mountainous terrain with two seasonal dams; a true nature lovers dream. Our accommodation is in the form of ten Tented Chalets with twin outdoor showers that sleep up to six. Built in the bush, you will wake up to the sounds of the veld.

Our five double luxury rooms with en suite bathroom are within 50 metres of the restaurant, swimming pool and reception / curio area. These rooms are quite popular with representatives that need to be on the road bright and early.

Restaurant / Dining

We also have a fully licensed A la Carte restaurant, tea garden and curio shop that stocks true African handcrafted ornaments, textiles and paintings by renowned South African artist Nico van Rensburg.

Weddings and Conferences

We also cater for turn key weddings (we have a bush Chapel), as well as conferencing and functions for up to 200 guests. We also cater for group bookings, where we can design your stay to suite the groups needs and activities!

Attractions and Activities

For the nature enthusiast, Mashudu Lodge has it all! Activities for the adventurer range from game and quad bike drives to hiking and for the more gentle soul, bird watching, fishing or relaxing at the swimming pool.

At Mashudu, our animals come first, and they have right of way at all times! With more than 14 species of antelope, namely: Giraffe, Eland, Blue Wildebeest, Zebra, Kudu, Impala, Waterbuck, Reedbuck, Oryx, Klipspringer, Duiker, Nyala, Bushbuck, Red Hartebeest, and along with sights of Leopard and Caracal, your visit will be amazing!

Other activities in the Waterberg area include; hunting, elephant back rides, horseback riding, De Wildt Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, Big 5 viewing, goat cheese farm and the White Lion Breeding project.

Location

The Limpopo province is a land of dramatic contrasts, characterized by hot savannah plains, mist-clad mountains, age-old indigenous forests, ancient mountain fortresses and the luxury of modern-day facilities. The present tranquility of the province belies a turbulent past, to which many monuments and museums attest.

Vaalwater, in the heart of the Waterberg, was established at the turn of the century, and is possibly best known for its game and holiday farms. These farms offer the visitor hunting, game watching, hiking and horse trails, elephant rides and much more. This is also the area where you will find Mashudu Lodge, just 15km from this typical Limpopo farm town.
